The Hunger Site Responds to America's TragedyMercy Corps International The Popular Internet Site Teams Up with Mercy Corps to Provide Food to Relief Workers The Hunger Site (www.thehungersite.com), the Internet's most popular humanitarian website, will designate all proceeds from today until Sept. 30 to provide food to relief workers and stricken families in New York and Washington, D.C. Every time visitors click on The Hunger Site, Mercy Corps and America's Second Harvest will receive funding to provide a cup of food to firefighters, rescue workers, policeman, volunteers, survivors and others in need of help. "Mercy Corps is proud to be working with The Hunger Site and America's Second Harvest to respond to this national tragedy," said Dan O'Neill, Mercy Corps' President. "Visiting The Hunger Site each day is a way everyone can honor America's heroes and make a real difference." The Hunger Site was the world's first "click-to-donate" website. It has provided more than $3 million to fight hunger since its founding. The new owners of The Hunger Site relaunched the site two weeks ago after it closed in mid-July. Mercy Corps and America's Second Harvest are the two official beneficiaries of funds from The Hunger Site. America's Second Harvest is the largest hunger-alleviation agency in the United States and will coordinate these special food distributions.
