Detlef Schrempf Foundation to support Mercy CorpsMercy Corps International Proceeds from 4th Annual KidsFest to be Donated to Emergency Relief Efforts Seattle -- The Detlef Schrempf Foundation announces the proceeds from this year's KidsFest will go to supporting Mercy Corps' efforts to assist those most affected by the recent tragedy in New York, Washington D.C. and Pennsylvania. This is a one-day event celebrating children and families in Northwest. Detlef's KidsFest will take place at the Family Fun Center in Tukwila, Washington on Sunday, September 23rd from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. The Detlef Schrempf Foundation activities will be free and there will be an opportunity to meet Detlef and his family. To help children and families deal with the trauma of the attacks of September 11th, Mercy Corps will be providing grief counseling training to parents, child care providers and teachers, distributing information on helping children cope with grief, and supporting on-site child care. A Mercy Corps emergency relief expert is being dispatched to New York to coordinate response efforts. Mercy Corps has also transformed its website into a resource site for those who are seeking help.
