Lending heart to Comfort for Kids programMercy Corps International Heart to Heart International warehouse being used for Mercy Corps' Comfort for Kids program Heart to Heart International, a Kansas-based relief and development organization, has donated use of its new warehouse facility in Brooklyn, New York to assist Mercy Corps' Comfort for Kids program in New York City. The 75,000 square foot warehouse was recently donated to Heart to Heart International by FedEx Express and is being used by Mercy Corps as a storage and collection facility for the Comfort Kits it is distributing to 12,000 vulnerable children affected by the Sept. 11 tragedy. Mercy Corps' Comfort for Kids program aims at helping children from immigrant, refugee and low-income families impacted by the Sept. 11 tragedy. Working with nonprofit and corporate partners, Mercy Corps is responding with support and materials on helping children cope with fear, grief, trauma, and promoting healing and tolerance. Based in Olathe, Kansas, Heart to Heart International (www.hearttoheart.org) is a private, 501(c)(3) relief and development organization that specializes in volunteer action and worldwide humanitarian assistance to alleviate human suffering. Currently, Heart to Heart serves more than 200 recipient agencies in 20 states through its Heart for Home network. It also has ongoing programs in four countries around the world.
