AKRON, Pa. -- Mennonite Central Committee (MCC) and Ten Thousand Villages announce staff changes in the Ten Thousand Villages Marketing and MCC Human Resources departments.

Dwight McFadden, director of Human Resources for seven years (1993 to 2000), left that position on June 5 to take the job as Ten Thousand Villages Marketing director. Charmayne Denlinger Brubaker, director of MCC Communications Department, will replace McFadden as director of MCC Human Resources.

McFadden comes to Ten Thousand Villages with a graduate degree in commerce from Notre Dame University, South Bend, Ind., and worked in the field of marketing with two Lancaster, Pa., area firms before joining MCC. He is an ordained pastor and recently completed a term as moderator of the Mennonite Church denomination.

"I am pleased Dwight joined our team," said Ten Thousand Villages Executive Director Paul Myers. "He likes to see people and organizations grow and is a very good listener who always tries to learn new things."

Known for his enthusiasm, McFadden said he welcomes the challenges in working for a growing organization like Ten Thousand Villages. "I am excited about this opportunity. I'll be part of a vision-oriented, mission driven organization. The purpose is to serve artisans who want to meet the basic needs of their families. That's noble work and I'm proud to be part of that."

Denlinger Brubaker was director of MCC Communications for 11 years. She holds a master's in business administration from Penn State and is a part-time professor of organizational development and management in Eastern Mennonite University Lancaster Campus Adult Degree Completion Program. She served in Bangladesh with MCC from 1978 to 1981. In addition, she is a board member for the General Conference Mennonite Church's Division of General Services.

"We need skilled, dedicated people to carry out this work. I'm excited about the opportunity to be part of the Human Resources network that recruits, orients and develops these people, our most important resource," said Denlinger Brubaker.

"Charmayne recognizes the value of people and that makes her a perfect fit for Human Resources," said Bruce McCrae, director of Administration and Resources.

MCC is a relief and development organization with 1,412 workers in 56 countries. Ten Thousand Villages, a program of MCC, is a nonprofit marketing program that provides fair income to Third World artisans.
