"Change of Command" awardedMennonite Central Committee AKRON, Pa. -- The Mennonite Central Committee (MCC) U.S. video "Change of Command" achieved finalist status in the 1999 International Film & Video Competition of the New York Festivals. This award was presented in recognition of an outstanding achievement in the International Competition for Television, Film and Video Communications. "Change of Command" presents the stories of military veterans whose convictions clashed with their military duties. The 42-minute video was produced by MCC in 1998. Entries are evaluated for production values, presentation of content, inventiveness and overall effectiveness. An ad for "Change of Command" was featured in the New York Festivals Television Programming & Promotion and Film & Video Awards Book which is distributed at the banquet and mailed to industrial, educational and audiovisual producers, distributors and corporate communications professionals. "Free Indeed", a 1995 MCC-produced video about white privilege, also won the finalist award.
