Northport Resident Joins Medical Oncology Staff at Suffolk Outpatient Center in CommackMemorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center Northport resident John Joseph Fiore, MD, has joined the staff at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center's Suffolk Outpatient Center as its newest full-time physician. An experienced medical oncologist, Dr. Fiore specializes in the treatment of patients with lung cancer. He complements an established group of nine other oncologists at the Suffolk Outpatient Center, which offers the highest standards of comprehensive cancer care delivered by Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center (MSKCC) clinicians in a comfortable and convenient Long Island setting. The facility's services include cancer diagnosis, chemotherapy, radiotherapy, surgical consultations, and cancer screening. Dr. Fiore is board certified in medical oncology, hematology, and internal medicine. He was most recently Associate Professor of Medicine in the Division of Oncology at the State University of New York at Stony Brook. Dr. Fiore received his MD at Tufts University School of Medicine, trained at Veteran's Administration Hospital in Boston, and completed a fellowship in oncology at MSKCC. The Suffolk Outpatient Center, which is located at 650 Commack Road in Commack, MSKCC's first free-standing outpatient facility outside of its Manhattan campus. Open to patients since June, 2002, the facility represents a fundamental transformation in the delivery of cancer care as advances in cancer treatment and technology allow patients to receive more of their treatment on an outpatient basis, closer to home.
