Brunswick, GA, September 17, 2001 Today, in the aftermath of the recent terrorist attacks on New York and Washington, DC, Georgia-based, Christian, relief and development agency, MAP International (Medical Assistance Programs), is providing an initial shipment of saline solution. The solution will be used as an eye-wash to relieve the problems associated with the extreme levels of air-borne pollutants in the area surrounding the World Trade Center in New York.

This shipment is being sent to MAP's partner agency, World Missions New York, a ministry of the Times Square Church, for use by the National Guard Armory in the Bronx. The generous donation by partner agency, Alcon Laboratories, located in Ft. Worth, Texas, has allowed us to meet this critical need.

MAP International is working with World Missions, the Salvation Army, and other agency and pharmaceutical partners to assist them in meeting the overwhelming needs resulting from Tuesday's terrorist attack. These and other agencies are serving as operational partners for distribution of MAP provided support.

Delivery of necessary materials and the resourcing of funds for the needs of victims and rescue teams are underway. Additional shipments currently under discussion contain topical antibiotics, cortisone, IVs, personal hygiene products, eye drops, and nutritional supplements. They will be provided to the appropriate agency as necessary.

For nearly half a century, MAP International (Medical Assistance Programs), a Christian, relief and development agency, has provided medicines, medical supplies and other services for the poor. In coordination with over 300 partner agencies, MAP has provided health and hope to those affected by disaster, both natural and man made, domestic and foreign, and is one of the largest providers of donated medicines and medical supplies worldwide.
