Houston Man Wins National Humane Images Photo ContestAmerican Humane Association American Humane today announced that the Grand Prize winner of this year's Humane Images Photo Contest is Patrick Hovey of Houston, Texas. Hovey's winning photograph was entered in the Wildlife category and depicted a mother monkey nursing her young. Hovey will receive $300 and will see his photo published nationally. The Humane Images Photo Contest is held annually by American Humane, the nation's only organization dedicated to protecting both children and animals. The entry categories for photos were Children/Family, Children & Animals, Pets, and Wildlife. A panel of judges chose one winner from each category and selected an overall Grand Prize winner from these finalists. All winning entries will be published in a national American Humane publication and will be featured on the American Humane website. "We look forward every year to receiving the photos for the 'Humane Images' contest," says Bob Roth, American Humane's vice president of public programs and marketing. "It is a chance for us to reconnect with the children and animals we have been working to protect for 125 years. The photos are always wonderful testaments that the humane values American Humane upholds are shared by so many others."
