Learn About Dogs Awaiting Adoption In Local NY – Area Shelters And Meet With Representatives From The American Humane Association

The American Humane Association (AHA) will kick off its Adopt-A-Dog Month with a special animal education event at Union Square Park on October 13, 2000 from 7AM-12PM. The park is located at Broadway and 17th Street in Manhattan.

This free event is sponsored by RESOLVE® Pet Stain & Odor carpet cleaner in cooperation with the AHA. Staff from the AHA will be on hand to talk about animals awaiting adoption in local NY shelters and to tell people how they can go about adopting a cat or dog. Dogs awaiting adoption from nearby shelters will be at the event as well. Additionally, for all who attend, there will be many freebies including animal care booklets, samples of RESOLVE Pet Stain & Odor carpet cleaner and much more.

Each year about 11 million cats and dogs await adoption in animal shelters across the country, according to the AHA. Of those animals, 72% of the cats and 56% of the dogs are eventually euthanized*.
