Make-A-Wish Foundation® Launches On-Line Donations PageMake-A-Wish Foundation of America PHOENIX (December 2, 1999) — The Make-A-Wish Foundation today completed the donation section of its Web site with the addition of the secure on-line donations page. Now, individuals wishing to donate can visit the page at http://www.wish.org/home/frame_give.htm and choose whether to give by mail, by phone, or by making a secure credit card donation on-line. With each option, the donor has the choice of whether to give to a local Make-A-Wish Foundation chapter, the national organization or to the international division. Donations collected through the Web site will be used to help grant the wishes of children with life-threatening illnesses across the world. On-line donations may be made with Visa, Mastercard, American Express or Discover cards. "The Make-A-Wish Foundation serves special children and families all over the globe," said Paula Van Ness, president and CEO of the Make-A-Wish Foundation of America. "Now, through this one central Web site, supporters can help the Make-A-Wish Foundation grant these children's wishes, no matter where they are." The Make-A-Wish Foundation grants wishes to children under the age of 18 with life-threatening illnesses. It is the largest wish-granting charity in the world, with 81 chapters throughout the United States and its territories and 18 international affiliates. Through private donations and the efforts of more than 18,000 volunteers, the Make-A-Wish Foundation has granted more than wishes 66,000 wishes in the United States and more than 7,000 in other countries since being founded in 1980.
