JNF's Walk For Israel to Take Place at UCIJewish National Fund February 21, 2001 – Costa Mesa, CA – This year's Walk for Israel will take place on Sunday, April 29, 2001 at the University of California - Irvine. This 5K walk will bring together the Jewish community as never before in solidarity with Israel. "This year we are having the JNF Walk in conjunction with the Orange County Jewish Festival, providing a full day of activities for the entire family!" stated Dr. Wendy Groner Strauss, executive chair for the event. Ticket prices are $20 for adults and $12.50 for children. This cost includes FREE entry into the OC Jewish Festival and a walk T-shirt. Walkers can enjoy a breakfast of bagels and cream cheese as they register at 9:00 a.m. The walk itself will start promptly at 10:00 a.m. The scenic, but challenging walk wraps around the magnificent UCI campus ending at Aldrich Park just as the Festival begins. Entertainment will begin around noon and continue throughout the day. Children will have the opportunity to take part in the "Passport to Israel" tour which includes stops at booths in the Festival. The different stops will represent various countries around the world where Jews have made their home throughout history. Israel, the Jewish Homeland, will be the last booth on the journey. Several of the local Hebrew day schools and local Hebrew school classes have pledged their support.
