Jewish National Fund Appoints New Campaign Associate for Southern NJ and Eastern PennsylvaniaJewish National Fund December 12, 2000 – New York, NY – Jewish National Fund (JNF) announced today the appointment of Lynn Norton Robins as the new Campaign Associate to direct fundraising efforts and set up a county board in the Southern New Jersey and Eastern Pennsylvania areas. Robins will be based out of JNF's Philadelphia office. She will be responsible for setting up major fundraising efforts in Southern New Jersey and Eastern Pennsylvania with the help of local lay leaders and synagogues. In this capacity, Robins plans to serve as an advocate for Israel and its environment. She will be looking into new and exciting fundraising initiatives that will benefit the land of Israel, as well as organizing and implementing existing JNF fund raising campaigns, particularly in the area of water. "I am constantly working to educate people about the water situation in Israel," explains Robins. "A big part of my new position will be to go out in the community to meet with people and talk with them about the water crisis in Israel. My goal is to have others feel as passionate as I do in making JNF's projects happen and helping to bring Israel back to life," she added. Robins has been a lay leader for Temple Beth Zion Beth Israel in Philadelphia for a number of years, and as a result has developed strong relationships with the members of her community, surrounding communities and local leaders. As part of her responsibilities, Robins oversaw numerous fund raising events, which will be beneficial in her new role with JNF. "We are very excited and proud to have Lynn joining our JNF family," said Joel L. Leibowitz, JNF Northeastern Zone Director, who will be supervising Robins. "Lynn will be bringing a great deal of experience to our organization as well as strong ties to the people in the community." A resident of Philadelphia for over twenty years, Robins now lives in the Art Museum area with her husband and two young daughters, ages four and seven. In addition to organizing Tree of Life Dinners, Robins will be charged with continuing to build the JNF board to be even stronger and more successful than in years past. This will in turn help JNF grow in that community and assist in raising the funds necessary for JNF to continue its work in alleviating the water shortage in Israel. Israel is currently facing the worst water shortage in recorded history. Funds raised by JNF are used towards building water recycling centers and reservoirs, as well as to clean polluted rivers and streams. JNF's work has already increased Israel's available water supply by 6%. "I'm very excited and proud to be part of JNF," says Robins. Founded in 1901, Jewish National Fund is a national non-profit organization. JNF is the caretaker of the land of Israel, on behalf of its owners – Jewish people everywhere. The organization has planted over 210 million trees, built over 100 dams and reservoirs, developed over 250,000 acres of land, and created 400 parks throughout Israel.
