Summary: Gladney Center for Adoption's 2nd Annual Bright Futures Camp will be July 24 to August 3, 2003 in Fort Worth, Texas. The Camp enables older children from an orphanage in Russia to experience family life in the United States for a week.

Who: The Gladney Center for Adoption is proud to announce the 2nd Annual Bright Futures Camp.

What: Thirteen children from the orphanage in the Ryazan Region in Russia, ranging in ages from 5 to 15 years old, are arriving in Fort Worth July 24. All of the children will be staying with host families.

Where: Gladney families from the Dallas/Fort Worth area will welcome the Russian children into their homes for a fun-filled visit to the metroplex. It is Gladney's hope that these children will find forever homes while they are visiting the United States.

When: July 24 - August 3

Why: There are millions of children living in orphanages around the globe. These children will likely never experience the love and nurturing that a forever family can provide. Gladney is committed to finding permanent homes - one child at a time. It is our hope that this "Bright Futures Camp" will increase awareness for the need for international adoptive parents and help children around the world.

While visiting the United States the children will enjoy many special activities including:

  • Fort Worth Zoo

  • "Children Just Like Me" Exhibit at the Fort Worth Museum of Science & History

  • Pottery Pad

  • Swimming, boating, and visiting with other Gladney families

A lunch reception provided by Domino's Pizza will be held in the children's honor at Gladney's new Fort Worth campus. During this event, the children will meet their host families for the first time.

Gladney is one of the oldest and largest maternity homes and adoption agencies in the United States. This year Gladney will place over 300 children in forever homes. Throughout its history, Gladney has placed over 26,000 children from here and around the globe.
