Fort Worth, Texas --- One Church, One Child of Texas, Inc. hosts their Annual National Convention, September 26 - 29 in Arlington, Texas at the Hilton in Arlington. This year's theme, "Celebrating Twenty Years: Keeping the Promise", highlights the commitment to finding homes for over 500,000 African American and biracial children currently in care and available for adoption in the United States. Adoption specialists, children's advocates and Texas' own prominent pastors will convene to share information and ideas on adoption. Since its inception, One Church, One Child has placed over 100,000 African American and biracial children in permanent homes. This year's convention will celebrate these adoptions and, at the same time, provide information and ideas for finding permanent homes for the thousands of children still lingering in foster care.

Featured guests include the nationally renowned Reverend W. C. Martin and his wife Donna from Bennet Chapel, Sydney Duncan, Zen Oglesby, and the founder and president of One Church, One Child, Father George Clements. Praise dancers, choirs, and other entertainment will be provided for our 20th anniversary celebration. Also in attendance will be representatives from the Gladney Center for Adoption and the Lena Pope Home. You don't want to miss it!

Founded by Father Clements in Chicago in 1980, One Church, One Child is a specialized adoption recruitment program for prospective minority families and single parents to adopt foster-care children. Their approach is unique in that the families are recruited from churches. Each church provides a support network to nurture the families before, during, and after the adoption has been completed. Currently, there are over thirty affiliates of One Church, One Child in the United States. One Church, One Child of Texas has offices in Houston, Dallas, and Beaumont.
