Oliver North To Sign New Book at Focus on the Family

The name Oliver North evokes strong emotion from almost anyone. Known for his unrelenting courage, North has proven his valor by facing personal tragedy. As an accomplished novelist, North authored two previous books. Now he has written a third book, Mission Compromised, which is a novel about truth, treason and stolen honor. To promote it, North will personally sign copies of the book at the Focus on the Family bookstore September 23 from 11:00 am-12:00 pm.

North's new book, Mission Compromised, deals with a topic of current and imperative interest—terrorism. As a fictitious account of a U.S. Marine, Major Peter Newman, the book tells the story of hunting down and eliminating terrorists before they attack the United States with weapons of mass destruction. From the corridors of power in Washington to the heart of the Middle East, Newman finds himself on an assignment so sensitive that it's known only to a handful of officials, and turns into a nightmarish web of intrigue, revenge, and betrayal.

North's credentials run deep. He is a #1 best-selling author, the founder of a small business, an inventor with three U.S. patents, a syndicated newspaper columnist, former candidate for the United States Senate, popular public speaker, and the host of the weekly television series, War Stories, on the FOX News Channel. Having served 22 years as a U.S. Marine, North has been awarded numerous honors for service in combat, including the Silver Star, the Bronze Star for valor and two Purple Hearts for wounds in combat. Despite all this, North claims his most important accomplishment is being "the husband of one and the father of four."

Focus on the Family is pleased to host Oliver North. The book signing will be in Focus on the Family's Welcome Center on the northwest side of the campus. The bookstore is located inside the Welcome Center, and the event is open to the public.
