3D Computer Generated Animation Introduced for a New Hit Series

Focus on the Family Films is leaping into new territory with its latest animated series, Ribbits! Episode one, The Hero of Hopper's Landing, releases August 2002.

Already a leader in value-based family entertainment, Focus on the Family Films joins forces with Whirligig Animation Studios, Inc. to showcase 3D animation (also seen in Toy Story and Shrek) by telling the story of a frog's life in fun, engaging stories aimed at kids ages three and up. Loosely based on The Adventures of Tom Sawyer and including state of the art animation (taking ten months to animate a 25-minute show), Ribbits! proves Focus on the Family is determined to match or exceed the quality being produced out of Hollywood's top studios.

The real quality, however, is in the message. Bob Garner, former Walt Disney writer, producer, and director, and creator of Ribbits!, uses his experience to teach the power of truth over deception in an entertaining manner. Tad, the amphibian protagonist, is anxious to grow up and be a jumper frog like the others in the Louisiana bayou known as Hopper's Landing. Tad's best friend, Toad, is often found alongside Tad offering encouragement and amusement through his quirky inventions. Colorful characters such as Rosita Anita Juanita Bonita Buggita Chiquita Froggita, Bullyfrog and Bubblegum compose a series full of fun, community, family and honesty.

"It's all about the role models … somebody [kids] can latch onto," said Patrick Brock, the series' producer and director. "Children will want to live in Hopper's Landing when it's all done. The bottom line is they're learning something, and they're loving it as they learn it."

Focus on the Family is a non-profit Christian organization dedicated to the preservation of the home.
