Focus on the Family Radio Theatre Presents Classic C.S. LewisFocus on the Family The Enchanted Land of Narnia Comes to Life on Radio Stations Across the Country Award-winning Focus on the Family Radio Theatre presents its fifth classic radio drama, C.S. Lewis' The Voyage of the Dawn Treader. Focus on the Family Radio Theatre was awarded a Peabody Award in January 2001 for the radio drama Dietrich Bonhoeffer: The Cost of Freedom. Focus on the Family Radio Theatre remembers the Centennial Anniversary of Lewis' birth by bringing to life one of his best stories for children and adults of all ages. The Voyage of the Dawn Treader, the fifth of seven books in the popular series by C.S. Lewis, is comparable to the adventures in The Lord of the Rings. Paul Scofield, an Academy Award winner for his portrayal of Sir Thomas Moore in A Man for All Seasons, narrates an unforgettable adventure beginning with three children dropped into a painting of a ship at sea. The children enter an epic voyage in which Prince Caspian, King of Narnia, searches uncharted waters for seven missing Narnian lords. Their voyage takes them to strange and mysterious places encountering slave-traders, a lake that turns everything into gold, a dragon, a magician and his rather strange servant, and the Great Lion Aslan. "Our goal is to produce great stories in a powerful way," says Senior Producer Dave Arnold. "Stories that have deeper meanings and moral underpinnings. Stories that are produced with the highest of standards so listeners will experience the power of dramatic audio entertainment on a whole new level." Other Focus on the Family Radio Theatre productions include, among others, C.S. Lewis' The Chronicles of Narnia, the first five in the series: - The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe (Released April 1999)
