North Texas Cyclists Pedal in an Event Spanning All 50 States

Focus on the Family shows no sign of slowing down in the new millennium. From January 2001 through July 2002, Focus is sponsoring the National Bike Ride for the Family, an extensive promotional, fund raising, and ministry opportunity taking Focus outside the walls of its headquarters in Colorado Springs and directly into our nation's neighborhoods.

The North Texas ride will take place March 22-24 as part of the largest cycling event of its kind ever. Cyclists will pedal over 200 miles in a loop out of Benbrook on behalf of the family.

The National Bike Ride for the Family consists of 50 self-contained state rides and extends 19 months. Each ride spans a three-day weekend, Friday-Sunday, with an average of three state rides per month. The tour's final ride in Colorado will culminate at Focus on the Family in conjunction with the ministry's 25th anniversary.

Focus expects to draw 30-50 capable cyclists per ride who will commit themselves to raising $3,000 in support of the ministry. In return, riders will gain the benefits of accomplishing physical, mental, and spiritual goals. Planners have devised safe, challenging, and scenic routes promising to make the endeavor rewarding. Likewise, Focus on the Family hopes communities will evidence their enthusiasm by backing their state ride.
