Farm Aid 2001 Is Sold OutFarm Aid Music Fans Across the Country Still Have A Chance to See Willie Nelson, John Mellencamp, Neil Young and Dave Matthews Live on CMT Music fans who weren't able to buy a ticket to the benefit concert, scheduled for Sept. 29 at Verizon Wireless Music Center, in Noblesville, Ind. will still get a chance to see the show live on CMT: Country Music Television. CMT will telecast Farm Aid 2001 live on Saturday, Sept. 29. Check your local listing for time. This is the fourth consecutive year that CMT has been the exclusive television network for the Farm Aid concert. The lineup for Farm Aid 2001 includes Farm Aid founders Willie Nelson, Neil Young and John Mellencamp, along with a special solo performance by Dave Matthews. "We're thrilled that this year's concert sold out so quickly," said Farm Aid Executive Director Carolyn Mugar. Farm Aid was founded in 1985 by Willie Nelson, John Mellencamp and Neil Young to raise public awareness about the plight of the American family farmer and to provide assistance to those families whose livelihood depends on agriculture. In the past 16 years, Farm Aid has granted nearly $16 million to more than 100 farm organizations, churches and service agencies in 44 states. This year's event will be the 14th concert. CMT, a 24-hour country music network, carries original programming, specials, and live concert and events, as well as a mix of videos by established country music artists and new cutting-edge acts, including world premiere exclusive videos. Founded March 6, 1983, the network, owned and operated by MTV Networks, reaches more than 49.3 million households in the United States.
