NexCuraTM, Inc. announced today it has secured an agreement with the American Cancer Society, the nation's largest voluntary health organization, to "embed" its Cancer ProfilerTM interactive, health care decision-support tools on the Society's web site, www.cancer.org. The agreement will allow visitors to www.cancer.org to access Cancer Profilers for breast, colorectal, prostate and several other cancers.

"The agreement between the American Cancer Society and NexCura represents a technological breakthrough that will help us assist individual cancer patients and survivors with accurate, personalized treatment information that is relevant to their individual situations," said Harmon J. Eyre, MD, the Society's national chief medical officer. "The Cancer Profilers will directly further the mission of the Society to empower cancer patients and survivors in the fight against America's number one personal health concern."

Through NexCura's Cancer Profilers, cancer patients and survivors are connected with extensive databases of significant clinical studies. The Cancer Profilers generate unbiased, objective information tailored to patients' individual medical situations and concerns, including full disclosure of treatment options for their specific disease states. The Cancer Profilers also report risk tolerances, potential side effects, questions patients can ask their physicians and possible treatment outcomes based on group survival statistics. The information can be printed to discuss with family members or to support the patient-physician dialogue.

"The American Cancer Society's decision to embed the Cancer Profilers on www.cancer.org helps entrench NexCura's tools as the informational 'standard of care' for cancer patients seeking personalized decision support," stated Eve M. Stern, president of NexCura. "As the most trusted source of cancer information, with a 98% brand awareness, the Society is in a unique position to support patients' treatment information needs. We are excited to provide cutting-edge applications to enhance its services."

Each Cancer Profiler will be accessed on www.cancer.org through the site's Cancer Resource Centers for that form of the disease. NexCura has developed Cancer Profilers for bladder, breast, cervical, colorectal, melanoma, ovarian, prostate and uterine cancer.

Two advisory bodies have played key roles in the development and refinement of NexCura's Cancer Profilers and online services, including a Medical Editorial Board of prominent cancer experts who apply stringent medical standards to select the medical studies used in the company's database. The National Consumer Advisory Council includes representatives of some of the nation's leading cancer patient organizations.
