COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo., February 1, 2001- Compassion International recently partnered with Crosswalk.com (Nasdaq: AMEN) in a fall quarter 2000 campaign raising awareness among the online Christian community which resulted in funding of $68,544 for the worldwide development of children through Compassion's Unsponsored Children's Fund.

With the Unsponsored Children's Fund, impoverished children are provided the means to launch into a Compassion child development program even before that child has a personal sponsor. The fund delivers benefits that include educational opportunities, Christian training, social development, health monitoring, and supplemental food and medicine as needed.

The funds raised from the campaign enable 816 children to begin receiving program benefits while they wait the typical time for sponsorship. Participating fully in Compassion programs through a local church in their communities, the lives of these children will be dramatically improved. It gives them opportunities for improved education, better health, personal encouragement, and positive interaction with caring adults. Once they are linked with an individual sponsor, each child and sponsor will exchange letters and begin to build a relationship. Many students are sponsored from primary school to completion of their high school education.

"Crosswalk.com consistently has been rated one of the top ten 'Family and Lifestyle' sites in terms of customer loyalty by Nielsen NetRatings," said Rick Mitchell, director of marketing and development for Compassion International. "When the opportunity came to work with them on their subscription promotion, we were excited for the partnership. Their readership matched our demographics for potential child sponsors and we are truly pleased with the results."
