Celebrity Freestyle Dressage CompetitionChristopher Reeve Paralysis Foundation The Virginia Dressage Association will host the 3rd Annual Celebrity Freestyle Dressage Competition to benefit the Christopher Reeve Paralysis Foundation to further spinal cord research on Saturday, June 15, 2002 at the Keswick Hunt Horse Show Grounds in Keswick ,Virginia. The event will begin at 3:00 p.m. and continue with evening performances until approximately 9:30 p.m. During the dinner hour, there will be several interesting and different exhibitions going on in addition to the main program of mini-costume freestyle rides, quadrilles, pas de duex, and lower- through upper-level advanced dressage rides to music. The "Spiritkeepers," a chapter of Therapy Dogs International, Inc., will be in attendance and will talk to spectators about their experiences in comforting the victims and rescue workers at the Pentagon on September 11. Horse and rider teams will be judged by a panel of celebrities .Those invited to judge are David Baldacci—popular author, Ted Koppel—ABC Nightline Anchor and Managing Editor, actors Sissy Spacek, Tim Reid, and Daphne Maxwell-Reid, Lawrence Eagleburger—former Secretary of State, Margaret Warner—MacNeil/Lehrer NewsHour Chief Washington Correspondent, and a host of others. International dressage judge, Libby Anderson, will also preside. General admission is $10.00 per person .Children under 10 years of age, $6.00. Special "Patron" seating under the tent with the celebrities can be enjoyed with a specially prepared dinner and cocktails for $125 a person. A Silent Auction will also take place with a variety of items including celebrity autographed books and items. The proceeds to benefit the Christopher Reeve Paralysis Foundation.
