One month after the terrorist attacks in Washington and New York City, political and religious leaders, entertainers and advocacy groups assert that their commitment to children has not been destroyed, but has grown even stronger. They will be joined by school-aged children to honor all those who have died or suffered at the hands of terrorists by giving concrete means to better the lives of all children.

"Remember the Children" will be held on Thursday, October 11, 2001, 11:00 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. at the The Lincoln Memorial.

Some of the attendees will be: Foreign Ambassadors to the United States, U.S. Political Leaders, Academy for Educational Development, Christian Children's Fund, Oxfam, Plan International, Oxfam, U.S. Fund for UNICEF, InterFaith, U.S. Coalition for Child Survival, Save the Children, National Community of Justice, World Vision, and others.

Also attending will be Greg Smith, 12-year-old college student, and founder of International Youth Advocates, The Kids on the Block Program on Multiculturalism - Performance on Understanding Fear while Respecting Diversity; The Washington Performing Arts' Children's Choir; Elementary and High School Students.
