East African Youth Journalist To Speak In Rhode IslandChildreach On Monday, May 13, at 2:00 PM, Childreach/Plan will host a presentation by Geraldine Nyambura Kamande, a fourteen-year old journalist from Kenya. Ms. Kamande is visiting the states to participate in the United Nations Special Session on Children in New York from May 6-10. She will spend the day of the 13th at the offices of Childreach/Plan in Warwick, RI. Her presentation will include a viewing of a Children's Video Project from Kenya focusing on issues that affect children in rural areas. Ms. Kamande will also discuss her newsletter, Giving Children a Voice. Her topics will include barriers to education in rural Kenya, the impact of HIV/AIDS on families, and child rights.
