Catholic Charities USA Provides Funds to Catholic Charities Agencies of Ft. Wayne and Youngstown for Disaster RecoveryCatholic Charities USA Catholic Charities USA's Disaster Response Office has sent emergency disaster relief funding of $10,000 each to Catholic Charities of Youngtown, OH, and Catholic Charities of Ft. Wayne-South Bend, IN, to assist with recovery efforts following devastating floods that hit those regions last month. In addition to floods, the Youngtown area was hit by a tornado. "This grant will help these local Catholic Charities provide financial assistance, clothing, shelter, repairs, counseling, or other services as needed," said Deacon Gerald Collins, director of disaster response at Catholic Charities USA. The Catholic Charities USA Disaster Response Office, in collaboration with the U.S. Catholic bishops, represents the Catholic community in times of domestic disaster. The grant is made available from Catholic Charities USA's general disaster relief fund.
