$33,000 Raised For Cancer Research Foundation Of America Breast Cancer FellowshipCancer Research and Prevention Foundation $33,000 was raised for the fight against breast cancer at a dinner held by the Cancer Research Foundation of America, generously hosted by Gerard Pain, owner of Max's of Washington and La Chaumière. The proceeds will be used to support a young scientist who will be awarded a Cancer Research Foundation of America breast cancer prevention fellowship. Attendees of the dinner, held at Max's of Washington on Oct. 19, included: Dr. Paul Talalay, inventor of Brocosprouts and Cancer Research Foundation of America grant recipient; Dr. Ted Tsangaris, Lombardi Cancer Center breast cancer physician and Cancer Research Foundation of America grant recipient; Leena Hilakivi-Clarke, Lombardi Cancer Center researcher and Cancer Research Foundation of America grant recipient; Jeremy H. FitzGerald, Cancer Research Foundation of America Board Member and co-host; and Judy Carr Evans, a 22-year breast cancer survivor and co-host. In honor of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the Cancer Research Foundation of America/George Washington University Medical Center Mammovan was on sight for tours. The Mammovan makes scheduled visits to corporate sites and to designated underserved areas in Metropolitan Washington.
