Country Singer Tim Rushlow to Perform at Candlelight VigilAlzheimer's Association Hundreds of Americans from around the country will gather at the Lincoln Memorial Monday, April 2 at 7:15 p.m. for a candlelight vigil to draw the nation's attention to Alzheimer's disease and its effect on their families, their communities and the U.S. health care system. Country singer Tim Rushlow will express the group's solemn moments of remembrance of the people they love as he sings his top ten country single "She Misses Him." The song is the poignant and inspirational story of a devoted wife taking care of her husband stricken with Alzheimer's disease. The song has caused a major stir at radio stations nationwide, including Washington, D.C.'s WMZQ which produced a special version honoring former President Ronald Reagan and his wife Nancy. The event, hosted by sports broadcaster Tim Ryan whose wife was diagnosed with early-onset Alzheimer's in 1991 at the age of 51, will feature Clemme Rambo, a caregiver from Kansas City and Phillip Hamilton of Norfolk, VA whose mother died of the disease last year. Hamilton is a member of the Virginia House of Delegates. The candlelight vigil is part of the Alzheimer's Association's annual Public Policy Forum. More than 500 Alzheimer advocates are in town for the forum, calling on Congress to address the impact of Alzheimer's, the urgency of increasing federal funding for research, the need to modernize Medicare, the cost to caregivers and how the aging of the babyboom generation will affect the cost and availability of Alzheimer's care by mid-century.
