Strong Growth at Cannon Valley Clinic Leads to Building Purchase

Cannon Valley Clinic -- part of Mayo Health System -- is growing to meet increasing patient needs with the addition of a second clinic location in Faribault.

Cannon Valley Clinic is purchasing an existing medical office building at 924 First St. N.E., which will most likely house primary care following building renovations. The second Faribault location is expected to open for patients in late spring or early summer 2004. All other medical services will remain at the Cannon Valley Clinic building located on the District One Hospital campus.

The addition of a second clinic location in Faribault is needed due to the tremendous growth of Cannon Valley Clinic. The additional space will allow the already successful clinic to grow offer new services to the community.

ÒCannon Valley Clinic has grown 500 percent in the number of patient visits since opening in 1995,Ó says David Beckmann, M.D., president and chief executive officer at Cannon Valley Clinic. ÒAs Faribault has grown, so has the need for quality healthcare in the area. Cannon Valley Clinic will be better able to meet that need by acquiring this additional space.Ó

Cannon Valley Clinic offers four outreach specialties through its relationship with Mayo Clinic and Mayo Health System, in addition to the specialties and services it already provides. Acquiring additional existing space is a fiscally responsible decision that will allow Cannon Valley Clinic to bring more outreach specialty physicians to Faribault after the First Street Northeast facility opens.
