Non-profit executive brings experience, energy to position

WASHINGTON - Bernadette Watson has been named Vice President of Finance and Administration at Bread for the World, the nation's largest grassroots lobbying organization on domestic and international hunger issues. Ms. Watson brings more than 20 years of administrative experience, having worked for non-profit community based organizations addressing mental health, substance abuse, and services for those with HIV/AIDS.

"I was attracted to Bread for the World for its national and international focus as well as its faith-based mission and strategy to end hunger," Ms. Watson said. "I am pleased to join the committed and enthusiastic staff, who know that hunger can be eliminated both here and abroad."

Bread for the World President David Beckmann praised Ms. Watson's skills, saying, "Bernadette's arrival, with her background in financial administration, gives Bread for the World an even greater capacity to fight hunger around the world. We're ecstatic to have her on board."

A native of New York City, Ms. Watson holds a Master of Education from Tufts University and a Master of Business Administration from Baruch College and an undergraduate degree from Howard University in Washington, D.C. Recently, Ms. Watson also completed a program at Columbia University Business School's Institute for Non-Profit Management.
