Billy Graham To Welcome Thousands at Christ is the Answer Evangelistic Crusade With Franklin Graham, Arruda Stadium, September 27-29 RECIFE, Brazil, Aug. 20, 2001 -- After ten months of planning, more than 650 churches are just weeks away from hosting the Christ is the Answer Evangelistic Crusade, coming to Arruda Stadium, September 27-29, in Recife. The interdenominational group of Recife churches partnered together to plan the stadium event that will bring a message of hope to thousands. The three-night Crusade will begin at 7:30 p.m. each night and feature messages of hope from Franklin Graham, son of Rev. Billy Graham. The event will also include performances by contemporary Brazilian musician groups and a 2,000-voice choir. On Saturday, September 28, at 10 a.m., a kids event called "Mariazinha Discovers Jesus" will bring the Gospel message to children, performed by Brazilian group Evanarte. Christ is the Answer Evangelistic Crusade with Franklin Graham is being developed in cooperation with the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association (BGEA). Franklin Graham was invited by local church leaders to conduct the Crusade. All activities are open to the public, and admission is free. Franklin Graham the Evangelist Since 1989, Franklin Graham has conducted an average of seven Crusades a year as an evangelist for the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association. In 1995, Graham was appointed first vice-chairman of BGEA and CEO of the organization in 2000. Franklin Graham the International Relief Worker Throughout the year, Graham travels the world as president of the international Christian relief organization Samaritan's Purse, which has provided aid to Brazil including thousands of Christmas gifts for underprivileged children. Samaritan's Purse is working in more than 100 countries around the world, maintaining offices in Canada, the United Kingdom, Australia, and the Netherlands, with its headquarters located in Boone, North Carolina. Earlier this year, Graham conducted Crusades in San Pedro Sula, Honduras; Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, Tallahassee, Florida; and Spartanburg, South Carolina. Since he began preaching in 1989, Franklin Graham has spoken to more than 3.2 million people at 89 Crusades worldwide.
