St. Jude TV show debuts Nov. 30St. Jude Children's Research Hospital (ALSAC) Saving Kids Like Me, St. Jude's new fund-raising television program will debut nationally on Sunday, Nov. 30 at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. Eastern on the BET Cable Network. (Check with your local cable provider for channel information.) The program, hosted by St. Jude National Outreach Director Marlo Thomas, profiles the inspiring stories of St. Jude patients, their families and the doctors and researchers fighting to save their lives and find cures for catastrophic diseases. Saving Kids Like Me focuses on four St. Jude families who generously offered to share their experience with the public. "Everyone at St. Jude was giving us so much, that we had to give back," said Collen Arceneaux, mother of featured patient, Hayley. "I just knew that if people could see what was really going on here every day, if they could see our story, they would have to help." Saving Kids Like Me spotlights not only St. Jude's ground-breaking research into childhood cancer, it also details the hospital's pioneering breakthroughs in the research and treatment of osteogenesis imperfecta (OI), also known as brittle bone disease, and sickle cell disease. In addition, the program will revisit two patients from previous shows and feature segments covering two special hospital events, Day of Remembrance and Survivors' Day. Following the premiere on BET, Saving Kids Like Me will begin airing in local markets across the United States, including New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Philadelphia and Dallas. Time to Live, the previous St. Jude special, will continue to air in rotation with the new show. Check your local listings for show times in your area.
