Chicagoans support St. Jude at 'Four Stars' dinnerSt. Jude Children's Research Hospital (ALSAC) Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich and world-renowned beauty authority Marilyn Miglin, president and CEO of Marilyn Miglin LP, will support St. Jude Children's Research Hospital through the ninth annual Four Stars of Chicago Restaurant Extravaganza today at the Chicago Hilton. The Four Stars of Chicago event fuses fine food with fund raising for St. Jude by bringing together 27 of Chicago's best restaurants and an expected 1,000 guests, including many of Chicago's most prominent civic and corporate leaders. The elegant evening begins Wednesday night, May 14, 2003, at 5:45, with cocktails and a silent auction followed by a special St. Jude program hosted by CBS2 Chicago news anchor and master of ceremonies, Mary Ann Childers. Honorary Chairperson Marilyn Miglin will address the crowd alongside Hayley Arceneaux, a 10-year-old St. Jude patient and cancer survivor. Miglin met Arceneaux on a tour of St. Jude and was so impressed by her bravery and charm that she insisted on flying Hayley and her mother to Chicago for the event. Other notables include this year's Four Stars of Chicago Committee Co-Chairmen Richard J. Phelan of Foley & Lardner and Antoin S. Rezko of Rezko Enterprises. Governor Rod Blagojevich also plans to attend the event. The mouth-watering feast starts at 7:15 p.m. in the Chicago Hilton's International Ballroom. The following Chicago favorites will showcase their signature gourmet fare: Artopolis, Atlantique, Butterfield 8, Café des Architectes, Cité Elegant Dining, Coco Pazzo, The Eli's Cheesecake Co., Follia, Joe's Seafood, Prime Steak & Stone Crab, La Strada Ristorante, Little Miss Muffin, Lovells of Lake Forest, Maza Restaurant, Maggiano's Little Italy, Mon Ami Gabi, Monsoon, One North Kitchen & Bar, Papagus Greek Taverna, Phoenix, Rivers Restaurant, Rushmore, Russian Tea Time, Shanghai Terrace, Souk, Tiffin - The Indian Kitchen, Yanni's Greek Restaurant and Zest. In the eight years since its inception, this event has raised more than $1.8 million for St. Jude. The Four Stars of Chicago Restaurant Extravaganza is open to the public. Tickets are $350 each, and tables of 10 may be purchased. All proceeds benefit St. Jude.
