Slater and Haddon help needy children and families through Feed The Children distribution

Actor Christian Slater and his wife, Ryan Haddon were in Los Angeles today to help hungry children and their families through a Feed The Children distribution. Approximately 400 families arrived at West Angeles Cathedral, 3045 Crenshaw Boulevard, to receive the food and personal care boxes, along with caps, puzzles and toys.

Feed The Children's founder and president Larry Jones was on-site to oversee the distribution, along with the Slaters and Bishop Charles E. Blake, pastor of West Angeles Cathedral, who coordinated the recipient families. This distribution is the Slaters' first of what they hope to be several such events in conjunction with Feed The Children.

Ryan Haddon, who spearheaded this project, explains, "It's a heart-felt desire of mine to help needy children and families in America. As parents of young children, Christian and I want to personally be involved in what Feed The Children is doing to help fight hunger. We realize how fortunate we are to have such a wonderful family, and we want to help other families who have great need." Christian agrees and supports his wife's efforts. "I've traveled around the world on many movie locations and have seen hunger and need firsthand," he says. "But no greater need is found than here in America with our very own. That's why I wanted to join Ryan in this project for Feed The Children."
