They may not be Arnold Schwarzenegger, but they are the next best thing. The four muscle-bound men carrying groceries to cars at Cincinnati-area Kroger Food Stores the week of October 14 are members of "Team Hungry Man." On that day, the traveling troupe of tee shirt-clad, robust men with hearts for the hungry will assist Kroger customers by carrying groceries to cars and answering questions about the Hungry Man effort to raise funds for America's Second Harvest, the nation's largest hunger-relief charity.

At the same time, Kroger Food Stores in Cincinnati will be encouraging customers to purchase Hungry Man frozen dinners and Swanson Great Start frozen breakfast entrees. Five cents from each of these products sold will be contributed to America's Second Harvest. Hungry Man hopes to donate up to $25,000 to the non-profit organization. The Hungry Man and America's Second Harvest fundraiser will run from October 14 through November 1, 2002.

Team Hungry Man will be appearing at the following Cincinnati-area Kroger Food Stores:

Kroger Stores have long been a supporter of America's Second Harvest. In 2002, America's Second Harvest named Kroger Stores "Retailer of the Year" due to the 25 million pounds of food and products donated to America's Second Harvest. The donation, valued at $38 million, ranked as the largest in Kroger's history.

Here in Cincinnati, FreeStore/FoodBank, Inc. is the local affiliate of America's Second Harvest, the nation's largest hunger-relief organization. Its mission is to feed hungry people by soliciting and distributing food and grocery products through a nationwide network of certified affiliate food banks and food-rescue organizations.
