For the second year, Macy's West is presenting the "More Community" campaign to raise funds for four agencies: the affiliate food banks of America's Second Harvest, the American Cancer Society for breast cancer research and education, the United Way, and the Boys and Girls Clubs.

The "More Community" campaign runs from October 16, 2002 through January 11, 2003. Through this program, Macy's Cardholders can contribute a minimum of $25 to the "More Community" campaign through their Macy's credit card and one hundred percent of the proceeds raised will go directly back to the communities where donations were made. At the time their contribution was made, Cardholders will receive a special sticker of recognition applied to their Macy's card. Last year, over 42,000 Macy's West customers participated in the campaign and raised over $1.1 million for the American Red Cross. This year, Macy's hopes to exceed last year's total.

As a "thank you" to its customers, Macy's will send customers a Macy's Reward Gift Card valued at ten percent of all their Macy's credit card net purchases (in-store and at www.macys.com) made from the day the customer contributes to the campaign through January 11, 2003*. Macy's Reward Gift Cards will be mailed to the customer in the beginning of February 2003.

One of this year's participating agencies, America's Second Harvest, is the nation's largest domestic hunger-relief organization. Through a network of over 200 food banks and food-rescue programs, they provide emergency food assistance to more than 23 million hungry Americans each year, eight million of whom are children. Last year, America's Second Harvest distributed 1.7 billion pounds of food to needy Americans, serving all 50 states and Puerto Rico. America's Second Harvest's goal is to end hunger in America.
