AmeriCares, the international and domestic disaster relief and humanitarian aid organization, is proud to announce that it has appointed a new President and Chief Executive Officer.

Curtis R. Welling brings to AmeriCares an extensive career in global finance and a keen interest in non-profit work. Most recently, Welling was CEO of Princeton eCom Corp., a leading company in electronic billing and payment. Prior to joining Princeton eCom, Mr. Welling spent more than 20 years in the investment banking and securities industry. He was President and CEO of SG Cowen Securities Corporation and Executive Vice President of Societe Generale Americas from 1996 through 1999. Prior to joining SG, he held senior investment banking positions at Bear Stearns and Co. and CS First Boston.

"I am thrilled to be joining an organization with AmeriCares' history of excellence and responsiveness to people in need," said Welling. "In a world which is, sadly, in ever-increasing need of humanitarian aid, I am excited to work with the remarkable AmeriCares staff and Board of Directors to build on the formidable foundation which Bob and Leila Macauley have built over the last 20 years."

Throughout his career, Welling has maintained leadership involvement in a number of civic and charitable organizations. Among other activities, he has been the founding Board President of the Donaldson Adoption Institute, the Board President of Spence Chapin Services, a Trustee of the Adirondack Council, Director of the Weir Farm Trust, Chairman of the Board of Finance for the town of Wilton, Connecticut and President of the Dartmouth College Alumni Council.

Welling received both his undergraduate degree and MBA from Dartmouth, and received his law degree from Vanderbilt Law School.

"AmeriCares is most fortunate to have the leadership of Curt Welling," says Bob Macauley, AmeriCares Founder and Chairman of the Board. "In addition to his wealth of experience and background, he has the vision and dedication that will enable AmeriCares to become foremost in our field. I look forward to a great future with Curt as President and CEO."

In its 20-year history, AmeriCares has delivered more than $2.6 billion worth of humanitarian relief to people in need in 137 nations worldwide.
