MasterCard Make Substantial Donation to Camp AmeriKids

On Monday, October 23, MasterCard International, presented a $40,200 donation to Camp AmeriKids, a summer camp for inner-city children living with AIDS/HIV and other life-threatening illnesses. This significant donation will allow the camp to continue to send children with AIDS/HIV to camp for another summer. The check was presented to Caroline Baumis, Director of Camp AmeriKids at the Elmwood Country Club in White Plains, New York where the Golf tournament was held.

For the fifth year, MasterCard International has been an avid supporter not only of Camp AmeriKids, but AmeriCares HomeFront and various AmeriCares international disaster relief missions. Dedicated MasterCard employees, always professional and ever helpful, volunteered countless hours organizing a most successful golfing event.

Camp AmeriKids, an AmeriCares program, provides a free camping experience for children between the ages of 6-12 and a Leadership-in-Training Program for those between the ages of 13-16 who have spent previous summers at Camp. It is AmeriCares' hope that the time spent at Camp provides the children with a brief respite from the difficulties, medical and otherwise, that affect their daily lives.

Camp AmeriKids is one of three domestic programs run by AmeriCares, the nonprofit relief and humanitarian aid organization, which provides immediate response to emergency medical needs—and supports long-term healthcare programs—for people around the world, irrespective of race, creed or political persuasion.
