AmeriCares, the international and national disaster relief organization, is pleased to announce that the Sound Sailing Center and the Sunset Grill will be sponsoring a benefit "Sail" for AmeriCares HomeFront.

Date: Saturday July 29 & Sunday July 30

For a suggested $20 donation, Sound Sailing Center instructors will take you for a 30-minute mini-lesson on a 23' sailboat. Avid boaters have the further option of taking a one hour sail on a 35' sailboat for a suggested donation of $60, or a two hour sail on the J-44' sailing yacht for a suggested $150 donation. Life jackets will be provided. Sunset Grill will be serving grilled hamburgers and other items to all participants on their outdoor patio which overlooks Norwalk Harbor and Long Island Sound. The magazines "Ocean Navigator," "Sail" and "Cruising World" will offer door prizes.

Sound Sailing Center is an US Sailing Certified Sailing School, offering classes for adults ranging from Basic Sailing to Ocean Cruising. Sound Sailing Center also has a sailing club, rentals, charters, and for non-sailors, sailing cruises in the Norwalk Islands and from the Caribbean to Maine on their new J44' sailing yacht "Monhegan." During the event, all will be tracking the progress of Martin van Breems, the founder of Sound Sailing Center, who will be racing the company's J44 single-handed from England to Newport RI in the world famous Ostar yacht race. The organizing yacht club is the Royal Western Yacht Club, or rwyc.org.

Sunset Grill offers Italian and American seafood, salads and grilled specialties with a vacation resort atmosphere and spectacular views of Norwalk Harbor and the islands.
