The weekend event will take place this Saturday and Sunday, June 4th & 5th

For the fifth year in a row, AmeriCares, the international disaster relief organization, has been named as the beneficiary of the annual Greenwich Concours d'Elegance, one of the top festivals for car enthusiasts in the country. The weekend event, to be held this Saturday and Sunday, June 3rd and June 4th in Greenwich, Connecticut, will feature cars from 1899 through the mid-1970's, both domestic and imported, in addition to post World War II European sports, touring and competition cars.

Bruce and Genia Wennerstrom, the organizers of the Greenwich Concours d'Elegance, have made this event into one of the premier festivals of its kind, attended by auto aficionados throughout the country.

One-third of the gross of spectator revenues from the weekend-long festival will be donated to AmeriCares, and used towards the organization's domestic and international relief programs in over 130 countries. In the last four years that AmeriCares has been the beneficiary, the Greenwich Concours d'Elegance has raised more than $54,000 for the organization.

"The partnership which exists between the Concours d'Elegance and AmeriCares stands as a wonderful example of what can be accomplished through such collaborations, " says Bob Macauley, AmeriCares' Founder and Chairman. "We are extremely grateful to the Wennerstrom's for once again choosing AmeriCares."

The Concours d'Elegance will take place at Roger Sherman Baldwin Park in Greenwich on Saturday, June 4 and Sunday, June 5 from 10am to 5pm each day, with a parade of cars scheduled at 3pm. Admission is $12 for adults and children under 12 are admitted free when accompanied by an adult.
