AmeriCares' HomeFront Helps Low Income, Elderly and Disabled Homeowners

On Saturday, May 6th and Sunday, May 7th, 9,000 volunteers will bring help & hope to 131 homes & 30 community centers throughout Connecticut & Westchester County, NY.

AmeriCares HomeFront is a community-wide "circle of caring" with volunteer teams supported by hundreds of sponsoring companies, religious, educational and civic organizations; community development and foundation grants; donated city services; and individual gifts. Each project is aided by donated products, building materials, services and professional labor.

The equivalent of 10 weeks of labor will be concentrated into one day of caring. Homefront volunteers will contribute 3,360 hours to pack, load and haul materials to project sites; apply 5,252 gallons of paint – the equivalent of 45 football fields; haul away 16 trailer loads of debris and use over 100,000 building supply items and materials.
