AmeriCares & Blansett Pharmacal Join Forces to Send Medical Relief Supplies to El Salvador

AmeriCares, the international and national disaster relief organization, announced today that Larry Blansett, President of Blansett Pharmacal of North Rock Arkansas has donated over $260,000 worth of Nalexâ capsules, a decongestant, expectorant for respiratory conditions complicated by problems such as sinusitis, pharyngitis, bronchitis, and asthma. The supplies will be delivered to hospitals and clinics in El Salvador.

"We are delighted to work with Blansett Pharmacal," said Alon Marom, AmeriCares' Manager of Corporate Accounts. "By combining our resources, we are able to provide respiratory relief supplies to the people of El Salvador who need our help."

Blansett Pharmacal is a pharmaceutical company with national distribution that develops and markets niche prescription drug products for specialty markets under their brand name. Currently, the company has fifteen products in four categories; Respiratory, Dermatological, Analgesic and Gynecological.

Since 1986, AmeriCares has distributed approximately $67,000,000 worth of medical assistance to the people of El Salvador, primarily through the Asociación Nacional de El Salvador de la Orden de Malta (ANESOM). These medical supplies are distributed to 221 hospitals, orphanages and convalescent centers throughout El Salvador. Among these organizations are twelve clinics, run by ANESOM that provide free curative and preventative medicine to the poor and underprivileged of El Salvador. These twelve clinics conduct approximately 200,000 medical consultations and treatments each year.
