AmeriCares Free Clinics Appoint Manager of Patient Services for Mobile Clinic in Southeastern CT

The AmeriCares Free Clinics, Inc. has announced the appointment of William P. Dowling III as the Manager of Patient Services of the AmeriCares Free Clinic of Southeastern Connecticut.

William Dowling graduated from the Capital Community Technical College with an Associates Degree in Nursing and currently attends the University of Connecticut pursuing a Bachelor's degree. He has over seven years of nursing experience. Most recently, Mr. Dowling was working with the Middlesex Medical Center- Shoreline Emergency Department where he supervised the emergency department personnel, managed and evaluated the patients, as well as having instituted several training and staff development programs.

"I am looking forward to bringing my nursing experience to the AmeriCares Free Clinics," says Mr. Dowling. "Knowing that I will be helping a patient live a healthier life, free from mounting medical bills, is truly gratifying. I especially look forward to working with the skilled and dedicated volunteer staff that is the backbone of AmeriCares." As Manager of the Free Clinic, Mr. Dowling will be responsible for supervision of the clinical staff and coordination of patient services.

The Free Clinic, housed in a 40 foot mobile unit, provides free medical care to uninsured and underinsured residents of Southeastern Connecticut. The clinic attends to the working poor, those who do not have private insurance or are not eligible for public assistance. The mobile clinic provides weekly sessions at predetermined sites in Groton, New London and Norwich. The Program Director, Manager of Patient Services, and a volunteer team of doctors and nurses staff the facility.

AmeriCares Free Clinics accepts only private funding, and all donations designated for the Southeastern Connecticut Mobile Clinic will help defray the cost of delivering healthcare to under and uninsured individuals in this area.
