Brother's Brother Foundation Announces 2002 Year-End Totals

Board members trips in March and April (Argentina, Haiti and Vietnam) and shipments sent to 10 countries in 2003.

BBF President Luke L. Hingson said, "2002 was a record year for the Brother's Brother Foundation with $170 million sent in product donations to 34 countries. This $170 million total is twice year 2001 totals and includes shipments of books and educational supplies to several African Nations with the help of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID). BBF medical and educational shipments for the year 2003 are going to help people in Argentina, Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Haiti, Malawi, Nicaragua, Nigeria, Philippines, Uzbekistan and Vietnam".

An evaluation trip to Argentina is planned for March of 2003 and will include BBF Board members Adolfo Cheistwer and Stanley Cohen as well as BBF President Luke Hingson. BBF has been working in Argentina for little over a year sending 7 shipments of over $20 million worth of pharmaceuticals.

Board members Dr. Jack Demos and Dr. Richard Dillio are planning medical trips in April to Haiti and Vietnam. Dr. DiIlio will lead a group of volunteers to Haiti leaving April 3. Dr. Demos will take a group of volunteers to Vietnam on April 11. Both groups will be assisted by Brother's Brother Foundation with donations of medical supplies.

The Brother's Brother Foundation is a 46-year old Pittsburgh based international charity, has provided more than 69,000 tons of medical supplies, textbooks, food, seeds, and other humanitarian supplies to people around the world in over 110 countries using a combination of gifts from the general public, corporations and the US government. In 2002 alone BBF provided over $169,000,000 of relief help to those in need.
