Morris will make a donation of $1,500 worth of 9Lives cat food to the ASPCA.

The world's most finicky feline, Morris the 9Lives Cat, is coming to New York! Morris is kicking-off his nationwide seven-city retail tour in the Big Apple in celebration of his return to TV with a new commercial, his new 9Lives® Gourmet Meals and his new and improved 9Lives menu for America's cats. Morris will be in town lending his paw to show his support for New York's neediest shelter animals and to meet his fans in purrson at local Pathmark, Waldbaums and ShopRite grocery stores.

Over the last five years, the number of US households that own a cat has increased by 10 percent including cats adopted from animal shelters. As a former animal shelter resident, the issue closest to Morris' heart is cat-egorically animal adoption. On behalf of 9Lives, Morris will make a donation of $1,500 worth of 9Lives cat food to the ASPCA, which houses more than 1,600 animals each year.

"We are honored to have a celebrity like Morris, make such a generous food donation to our shelter cats. This gift from Morris and 9Lives will help feed the many cats and kittens that pass through our doors each year," said Dr. Larry Hawk, ASPCA President and CEO.

In addition to Morris' philanthropet donation, New York residents are invited to come out and meet Morris during his purrsonal in-store visits at Pathmark, Waldbaums and ShopRite grocery stores on Thursday and Friday, September 13 and 14. Morris fans can get a free instant photo taken with the famous feline icon, receive Morris' pawtograph, 9Lives cat food coupons, and enter a drawing to win Morris memorabilia and the grand prize - a one year supply of the New 9Lives Gourmet Meals!
