Sweetie, the international muse, model & author is this year's honorary chairmutt.

The Young Friends of the ASPCA hosts 'Diamonds in the Ruff,' a fundraiser to benefit The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA) on Thursday, September 25, 2003. Tiffany & Co. is hosting a cocktail reception at its Flagship store as well as donating the event invitations and a platinum and diamond "Fireworks" pendant for raffle. Dinner will follow at the Rainbow Room. Each year, the event draws a passionate crowd of young animal lovers who come to dine and dance in support of the ASPCA's mission to prevent cruelty and alleviate fear, pain and suffering in animals.

Sweetie, the devoted spokesdog for the ASPCA will be the honorary chairmutt for this year's event. Sweetie was rescued by writer Mark Welsh from the side of a road in upstate New York in 1996. With a helping hand from Mark, this charismatic canine soared above her bleak beginnings to become a fashion advice columnist, international beauty and the author of Sweetie: From the Gutter to the Runway and Sweetie Says... I Never Met a Man I Didn't Lick. Sweetie never forgets her past and is always promoting pet adoption. Ten adoptable ASPCA shelter dogs will join Sweetie during cocktails.
