Visit Our Adoption Offices On Saturday, June 15 from 11am-8pm, As We Make Pet Adoption A Dynamic Option

Looking for a new pet? And the right match? Come to the ASPCA on June 15th and meet your perfect new pet. The ASPCA, in conjunction with the Iams Company, have put together a program called "Lifelong Friends" that is designed to pair you with a pet that is ideal for your lifestyle and home. Each year millions of pets are relinquished to shelters nationwide because the pet was a wrong fit for a household.

The ASPCA will host the day of fun called "The K9 Matchmaking Game." The day will include a fashion show, a freestyle demonstration, agility exhibitions, and training advice from Hollywood's premier animal trainer, Joel Silverman.

The "match-making" event aims to increase permanent pet adoptions by matching animals and people according to lifestyle, experience and needs. Two-thirds of the 7.5 million pets adopted from shelters each year are returned "because they weren't the right match," says Silverman, "They just didn't fit the person's lifestyle."
