World Concern Appoints New Director of Relief

SEATTLE, WA – Effective July 1, 2001, Mr. Kelly Miller, World Concern's Director of Corporate Services, will add Relief Director to his title. In addition to overseeing operations, marketing and gift-in-kind procurement for World Concern Supply Services in Lynnwood, WA, Miller will now also be responsible to develop and administer strategic planning for World Concern's emergency relief operations. The new position will relocate him rom Lynnwood to World Concern headquarters in Shoreline, WA.

Miller came from the private sector to World Concern in 1995 as a Major Donor Account Executive. In 1997, he was promoted to Director of Corporate Services, directing the gift-in-kind (GIK) division of World Concern. Shortly thereafter, he began taking on relief responsibilities as GIK supplies were sent to aid victims of Hurricane Mitch in Honduras. He additionally has provided relief assessments in Bosnia, Albania, Kosovo and Ethiopia, and developed partnerships in relief response on behalf of World Concern in Turkey and Mozambique.

When asked about his new role, Miller responded, "I look forward to participating in World Concern's long history of helping those in acute need around the world. We will continue to seek the most effective ways to aid those who are affected by disaster." In total, Miller has visited and/or worked in 38 countries, providing a wide variety of life experiences.

Miller, a graduate of the University of Washington, lives in Seattle, WA with his wife and three children.
