NIF Announces Jeff Green as New Boston Regional DirectorNew Israel Fund Washington, DC – September 11, 2001 - The New Israel Fund, a non-profit philanthropic organization that promotes equality and social justice for all of Israel's citizens, today announced the hiring of Jeffrey Green as director of its Boston regional office. Green was most recently a director in the Private Clients Group at Fleet Bank in Boston (formerly The Private Bank at BankBoston). "We are excited that Jeff will be putting his skills and experience to work for NIF," said Norman Rosenberg, NIF Executive Director. "His background in business development, negotiation and management, and team building will help NIF expand its donor base and improve operations." Green has 20 years of investment, lending, and sales management experience in private banking, and in international and commercial lending. He has also worked as a secondary and elementary school educator in the U.S. and Israel. "This position is the perfect synthesis of my ability to raise capital for worthwhile endeavors, my experience in Israel and my desire to see that country aspire to the highest ideals of a civil society," said Green. "Having been a successful adviser to wealthy clients seeking to build strong investment portfolios, I now hope to help interested donors find a prominent place for The New Israel Fund in their philanthropic portfolios." The NIF Boston regional office oversees outreach and campaigns in the Northeast U.S. Green begins work as director on October 1. NIF, founded in 1979, creates and supports local programs to safeguard civil and human rights, bridge social and economic gaps, and foster tolerance and religious pluralism. The Fund also conducts civic education in North America, Israel and Great Britain. In 2000, it received more than $21 million from 18,000 donors.
