Advocates Postpone Capitol Hill "Parity Now" Rally Scheduled for June 10National Mental Health Association Out of respect for former President Ronald Reagan and the many Americans who plan to gather at the Capitol to pay their respects, mental health advocates yesterday postponed the "Parity Now" rally scheduled for June 10 and extend their deepest condolences to former President Reagan's family. The Coalition for Fairness in Insurance Coverage and representatives of the 360 organizations nationally that support mental health parity legislation had planned to assemble on Capitol Hill to urge Congress to pass the Paul Wellstone Mental Health Equitable Treatment Act (S. 486/H.R. 953). The Coalition for Fairness in Insurance Coverage will announce next week plans for other activities to advance this legislation. The Coalition for Fairness in Mental Illness Coverage represents consumers, family members, health professionals, health care systems and administrators. The Coalition's members are: National Alliance for the Mentally Ill, National Mental Health Association, American Hospital Association, American Managed Behavioral Healthcare Association, American Medical Association, American Psychiatric Association, American Psychological Association, Federation of American Hospitals and National Association of Psychiatric Health Systems.
