AJC Solidarity Mission Heads to IsraelAmerican Jewish Committee More than 100 members of the American Jewish Committee will arrive in Israel this weekend on AJC's Operation Undaunted "We Stand with Israel" Solidarity Mission. "As the Israeli people face unrelenting Palestinian terrorism, and the Jewish people worldwide confront a rising wave of anti-Semitism, it is incumbent upon us American Jews to come together in unison with the Israeli people," said David A. Harris, who is leading the four-day mission. After Israel, AJC Executive Director David A. Harris will continue on to Europe to hold a series of meetings with political leaders to discuss rising anti-Semitism in Europe as well as European attitudes towards the Middle East. In Israel, the AJC solidarity mission, representing AJC leaders from across the country, joined by a number of Jewish leaders from other countries, will meet with Israeli President Moshe Katsav, Prime Minister Ariel Sharon, Foreign Minister Shimon Peres, Jerusalem Mayor Ehud Olmert, as well as intelligence experts, university professors, young immigrants and Israel Defense Force officials. Participants in the AJC mission will split up for one day to visit Israeli communities in the north and south of the country to bring a message of American Jewish solidarity with the Israeli people beyond the major cities.
